Well what can I say? I was not really looking forward to having my operation like most people I guess. Mr Nakhla put all my worries as rest. The procedure (total knee replacement) went well and the aftercare was second to none. perfect in every area. Highly recommended.

I previously wrote a review for Mr. Amgad Nakhla just 6 weeks after I had had total knee replacement in April this year. I was totally impressed at that time with Mr Nakhla's care and with the results of the operation. It didn't take me long to get back to doing all the things I hadn't been able to do previously. Now, seven months down the line, I mostly forget I've had anything done. The scar is neat, the knee is behaving itself, I do aerobic exercise classes a week and, although I say it myself, I put others ten years younger than me, to shame. This wouldn't have been possible, I'm sure, without the expertise and professionalism of Mr. Nakhla. He is certainly one of NHS's best assets. Thank you Sir!!!

written by patient of Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre 7 weeks ago I had a total knee replacement and Mr Amgad Nakhla was my surgeon. So far the procedure has been a great success and I have only positive comments to say about Mr Nakhla and the whole of the Shepton Mallet staff even down to catering and cleaning staff. The whole experience was a good one and I would recommend the hosptal to anyone.

Hi as promised. Hi first off a huge thank you to all of the staff who were involved in my hip replacement. I cant stress enough just how much this has improved my life. Being able to be admitted, have my operation, and be home at the end of the day was fantastic. I am convinced that being home on the same day, really helped speed up my recovery. After coming home, I found that following the instructions for exercise each day and being committed to walking outside as much as possible, really aided my recovery. Being able to walk out of the ward pain free was fantastic. After a week at home I was able to walk around the house without my crutches. At the end of my third week I was walking into town with the assistance of my crutches a distance of around a mile each way. By week five, after the operation I was walking into town and back without any crutches. Although as stated in the pack handed out my muscles are still a bit sore, I am finding that my muscles strength continues to improve and walking is a joy, not the continuous grinding 24 hour pain I was living with. I can't stress how much it helped my recovery to be able to be home on the same day after my operation. The epidural and sedative option for this surgery ensured that I had none of the sickness and general sluggishness that I had after a general anaesthetic. Finally A huge thank you again to everyone for the gift of pain free movement. Kind regards Alex Adkins

I was very pleased with the care I received from Mr Nakhla. The whole experience was professional and made me feel confident at all times. The incision for the hip operation healed quickly and I made a quick recovery. Shepton Mallet Hospital is an amazing place and is outstanding in every aspect of my care. I had a photo taken of the scar but cannot see how to upload it onto this site.
